Cây hoa "Lưu Tô" còn được biết với tên "hoa tuyết tháng tư", có tên khoa học là Chionanthus retusus, tên tiếng Anh là Chinese fringe tree.

Loài cây này có nguồn gốc từ khu vực Đông Á, nổi bật với hoa màu trắng, lá xanh, sau đó chuyển màu sang lá vàng, rụng lá vào mùa đông. Ngày nay chúng được trồng phổ biến ở Trung Quốc, Hàn Quốc, Nhật Bản và một số quốc gia châu Âu cũng xuất hiện loài hoa này.

Thời kì hoa Lưu tô nở bắt đầu vào cuối mùa xuân hoặc mùa hè, rộ nhất là vào tháng 4 đến tháng 6 hàng năm. Với những bông hoa trắng tinh khiết kết thành từng chùm tạo thành từng đám mây trắng mỏng manh với mùi thơm dịu nhẹ. Khi những bông hoa tàn, những cánh hoa rơi như tuyết trên mặt đất nên còn gọi là hoa tuyết tháng tư.
